St. Mary's Neighborhood Shuffle Board Bowling (seasonal- Sept.-April) start time 6:30 p.m.- 10:30 p.m. (estimated) - Thursdays

*American Legion Youth Baseball (seasonal May - October). American Legion Ridge Post 255 sponsors seven (10) teams: A Senior team, three (3) Junior teams (Blue, Gold, and White), and three (6) Sandlot teams. This is the most teams sponsored by any post in Maryland (and as far as we can tell, in the American Legion Baseball program world-wide). The home field for these teams is Chancellors Run Regional Park Click Here for the Team's Facebook page (external link:

The 2021 season had two REALLY BIG events:
1. The American Legion Post 255 Senior Team won the MD State Championship AND the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship (swept both!). That earned them a spot in the American Legion World Series where they were in a 3-way tie for a spot in the Semi-Finals with a 2-1 record. Unfortunately, even though they were tied, the tie-breaker was fewest runs allowed, which eliminated them from the tournament. What an oustanding season!
2. The
American Legion Post 255 Junior Blue Team also won the Maryland State Championship, with Jason Bean as the Head Coach. Way to go!

Softball (seasonal – April - September) The Post sponsors a Young Men's League team. The Young Men's games are played on Tuesday & Friday evenings.
During home games, the SAL operates the concession stand.

Bottom County Horseshoe League (seasonal- May - August): Home games are played under our pavillion.

*Ridge American Legion Post 255 sponsors American Legion Baseball for St. Mary's County.  This program affords high school age county youth an opportunity to be involved in a nation-wide program dedicated to developing both baseball skills and discipline.  The Post has a Senior team consisting of 16 to 18 year olds, and 3 Junior teams made up of 14 to 16 year old players.  The season runs from late May to early August, with games played within a six county area.  Home games are played at Regional Park on Chancellors Run Road in Lexington Park.  The teams will usually participate in a tournament out-of-state mid-way through the season, where they play teams from many different East coast regions.  These tournaments are always attended by college and professional baseball scouts.  Tryouts for the teams are held in May each year, with times and location advertised in the local newspaper. The Post also sponsors 3 Sandlot teams.
